Databases, storage techniques, and more

I’ve started reading The Database Column. I toyed with databases over the years and took a number of database courses at university. But, for the most part, I’ve not done much other than use databases.

The blog at The Database Column is fascinating. It discusses column-based databases and shows examples of advantages and what that means.

But the most interesting thing is this post on disk trends and performance. I was an eye opener.

I’ll be reading this blog some more. It’s fascinating.

Musings

A blog of my musings. Some folks find it interesting and so I continue. Hopefully it will remain fairly interesting. At worst, it'll keep me writing orthogonally to my day job.
