Cool “camera” hack

I’m not a camera buff. But I know a cool camera hack when I see one . This hack by a Japanese camera buff is totally cool. Although it only works for stationary objects being photographed, the resolution is absurdly high (130 megapixels). And I can think of some pretty cool uses such as photographs of the nighttime sky, for example. Hooking this baby up to an equatorially mounted telescope would result in stunning photographs. Totally cool.

40 Years On and We’re Still Not There

Now I know what Moses felt like, wandering around the wilderness awaiting the promised land shown years earlier. As a computer scientist it saddens me to see that we’ve not fully realized what Engelbart was capable of demonstrating in 1968! Whenever I want to show people how sad our progress has been with computers, I always pull up the Mother of All Demos. Wired has a nice article on the work and what it’s meant.
